GUEHI JEAN ET ENSEMBLE Lp. Original African pressing on the BADMOS label (BB 5008), from circa 1972. Desirable release from this cult group from Côte d'Ivoire. Features the infectious afro funk club tune ESSEMON MOUPOH with B-boy drum break intro / James Brown style scream / frantic lead vocals / psychedelic wah wah guitar hook / primitive organ and bass / congas and seriously funky drumming throughout. Long theme too (over 5min). Comped by DJ Muro for his Super Funky Afro Breaks release (a King Of Diggin' production) and also by France's Hot Casa label on Ivory Coast Soul - Afro Funk In Abidjan From 1972 to 1982. Very difficult to find with vinyl in top condition, like this copy :) Rare Lp!!!
Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG
Vinyl is closer to shiny M- condition overall with a few light hairlines from sleeve removal. Looks barely played. Light surface noises / soft pops due to pressing. The delicate card sleeve has visible damages / deterioration from humidity exposure / ring creasing and dirt marks from storage. Still in solid shape overall with no seam splits. Camera flash glare to sleeve and label image. Rare Lp!!!
