Description

Point of Departure by the Gary McFarland Sextet - Highly rated and sought after album by this vibes-led band featuring some excellent players. Recorded in 1963, this LP was released on the Impulse label in 1972. The record label is black with a red ring.
The Allmusic review by Scott Yanow awarded the album 4½ stars stating "The music is bop-oriented, but also open to occasional innovations taken from the avant-garde. None of the songs caught on as standards, but they tend to stay in one's mind after finishing the album". - from Wikipedia
From my own personal collection and very little used, on high quality equipment  - it is in excellent all round condition with some slight surface scratches visible but plays very well.  Sleeve is in excellent condition although there are  two very small areas of delamination on the rear edge.
