Genesis UK Pink Scroll 1st Pressing CAS 1052
Matrix Nos: CAS 1052 A-1U and CAS 1052 B-2U
Nice copy of this great and very rare lp. When Genesis first released Nursery Cryme in 1971 they were not at all well known. It wasn't until Selling England By the Pound was released in late 1973 that people started listening. By then Charisma had changed their label design from pink with a scroll to a Mad Hatter design. The early lps (Trespass and Nursery Cryme) were repressed with the new label and it's these copies you are likely to find in most listings.
The cover is graded vg. It is the original textured sleeve which was later replaced by a smooth one. The textured sleeve is very prone to wear but this is a more than acceptable example. There is a little edge and corner wear (see photos) but no splits, tears or writing.
The labels are graded ex. They are clean and tidy and free from stickers, writing or tears. there are a number of spindle marks indicating the lp has been well played.
The lp is graded vg-. It is flat, shiny and free from any deep scratches or scuffs but there are a number of light surface marks that add a light background crackle in places - particularly at the start of each side. It may be that the lp could do with a professional clean as the crackle does diminish towards the end of each side.
This couldn't be described as a final upgrade copy of this lp, but its condition will be more than acceptable for the vast majority of collectors. Especially with the ultra low start and free UK P&P
