1970 UK APPLE TRIPLE BOX SET

This UK 1970 1st UK pressing of George's triple LP box set comes on coloured custom Apple labels with the collective catalogue number of STCH 639.

The set is contained within an sturdy box with orange paper lining on the underside of the lid which was 'MADE AND PRINTED IN GREAT BRITAIN'.

Each disc is housed within a coloured inner sleeve, two of which are printed in the USA and one has no country of origin printed on it.

The set is complete with its large poster whihc is marked as being 'PRINTED IN GREAT BRITAIN'.

Matrix numbers: YEX 817-1U, 18-1U, 19-1U, 20-1U, 21-1U & 22-1U

Stamper codes: Disc 1: 1/RG, 2/AH. Disc 2: 2/GMD, 2/GMM Disc 3: 1/R, 1/O

Disc weights: 143g, 131g & 142g

Labels: Disc 1: EXCELLENT  Discs 2 & 3: NEAR MINT

Both of disc 1's labels have some wear to their centre holes indicating numerous plays. The labels of the other two discs bear just a few light spindle trails and have clearly had just a few careful plays.

Visual: All Discs: NEAR MINT

Despite disc 1's frequent play, both of its surfaces are clean & unmarked with nothing more than a sparkling rainbow shine and a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines visible under halogen light. It's the same story for the other, lesser played discs, all of which incidentally lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.

Play: Disc 1: EXCELLENT  Discs 2 & 3: NEAR MINT

Disc 1 has clearly been played more often than the other two and some light background is audible in the quieter passages. However, there is no groove/play wear distortion or any clicks, pops or ticks here or anywhere. Discs 2 & 3 have recieved jus one or two careful plays and sound 'as new'.

BOX

EXCELLENT -

A clean & fully intact example with clean front panel with no major marks or blemishes. In fact, apart from the faint ghost of a (price?) sticker in the upper right corner, there is no wear of any significance anywhere. There is a little rubbing to the lower right corner but all are fully intact and unsplit. There rear of the box has light damage to the paper in the lower left corner together with some light storage scuffs. Inside is clean & unmarked and the spine is fully worded and all of the gold lettering is fully intact.

All are clean & flat with a small lower seam split to two of them and a small side seam split to one.

This has never been fully opened up, let alone been near or on any wall.
