Description

Wow!! World class jazz pianist George Wallington and his ultra-talented quintet recorded live by Rudy Van Gelder under Gus Grant's supervision at The Cafe Bohemia in New York City on September 9th, 1955. Seven tracks (see photo for list) on Progressive Records (PLP 1001) offered here on such beautifully preserved vinyl that we would not be suprised if our flawless test playing of it was the only time a needle ever touched it!! Cover in near-mint condition as well, with only very minor scuffs but otherwise no splits. Simply amazing for an item coming up on 54 years of age! Goldmine has value rated this album at $1000.00; as a matter of fact, one sold this past Sunday for $800.00. If you were one of the unfortunate bidders that lost out, now is your opportunity to grab one of the very few (if any) left in such pristine condition. Insurance is required on this item and the appropriate fee will be added after auction's end. Please view our other listing for the next lp issue from Progressive Records; Hal Stein and Warren Fitzgerald's near mint 1955 pressing!
