Georges Delerue – A Man For All Seasons (An Original Soundtrack Recording 2 x LP) (1967)
Rare British gatefold double album.
Soundtrack to Fred Zinnemann's award winning 1966 film of ‘A Man For All Seasons’, from the play by Robert Bolt. Music by Georges Delerue.
The movie starred Paul Scofield, who had played Thomas More in the West End stage premiere, alongside Wendy Hiller, Robert Shaw, Orson Welles and Susannah York. Also appearing are Nigel Davenport, Leo McKern, Corin Redgrave and, in one of his earliest screen roles, John Hurt.
Condition VINYLS: EX/EX. Superbly clean on visual inspection. One or two very faint hairlines but no other scuffs or marks – and no deep scratches. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is fabulous throughout. Run-ins are clear with no static/surface noise. Some hiss in places throughout due to quality of original dramatic sound recording but plays with no skipping, jumping or sticking. An enjoyable listen to this hard-to-find release. OUTER SLEEVE/COVER: G+. Colours clear and unfaded on gloss outer gatefold. Disc outline visible and a few light stains in bottom area. Corners and apertures lightly nicked with mild scuffing. Bottom edge in great shape; top has light scuffing. Spine has one centre stain but intact and readable. Back outer cover has more wear to aperture this side but nothing major. Inner matt spread has a few small stains and dark marks along top but overall very good. INNER SLEEVES: VG+. Original poly-lined sleeves with blue text one side. Very minor creasing and folds to some corners but clean and intact. No rips or stains. A decent example.
