(UK FAMOUS, SFM 1001, 1971)
MEGA RARE UK STEREO PRESSING of Gil's killer third album - a Brazilian psych folk classic! After finding himself and fellow musician Caetano Veloso exiled in the UK due to their lyrics being 'too risky' for the Brazilian government, Gil made this excellent mellow funky album during his time in London. Despite problems back home, this album did well in Brazil but not in the UK, despite the majority of the lyrics being sung in English. It simply did not sell, and being a short-lived label was never repressed in the UK. In terms of quality, this UK pressing is the best you can get by far (the Brazilian pressing was in mono only and the US Paramount pressing is nothing compared to this), the sound quality and space in the grooves is just staggering. This is also in beautiful shape, and is the first example of this extremely rare pressing I have seen in years, let alone in this condition! Great stuff! Hard to find these days! Don't miss out!
Vinyl is in EX(+) condition : a few very light marks on side 1 which can only be seen under a bright light and do not sound, great pressing and sounds superb
Laminated flipback sleeve is in EX(-) condition : light edge creases, all laminate intact, light disc imprint, some wear along the top flipback, spine has light wear at the top but fully legible, top has a tiny centre split, opening looks great, nice shape overall
