Original UK Polydor stereo press LP.

The second and final Airforce album, recorded in London at Trident & Olympic Studios from May to October 1970 and released in December 1970. The band was touring for much of 1970, both in the UK and Europe and recording was done in stages with various musicians, including Graham Bond, Harold McNair, Ric Grech & Denny Laine. The album featured vocals by two new front women; Aliki Ashman & Diane Stewart, with additional vocals by Catherine James. This line up appeared on German TV performing their live show in full (see online) and even included the drum solos on Toady from Ginger Bakers Cream days, interspersed with new vocals. The band did not last much longer after the albums release and by late 1971 Ginger Baker was off to Africa to set up a recording studio in Lagos!

This is the original issue with the back to front cover with the red Polydor label on the rear & interior of the gatefold sleeve, the matt red Polydor labels and the earliest A//3 B//2 matrices & 1-1-6 1-1-3 stampers of the first presses!

  The E. J. Day Group matt gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner/edge wear and some light storage rubbing on the outer cover and creasing along the spine of the inner cover. The spine is intact, slightly rubbed and mostly readable and the lyric sheet is intact, with some light foxing and in EX condition. The company inner is intact, dated to 01/12/70, but is discoloured & in VG+ condition.   The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two small needle scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with no evidence spindle markings on either side.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, hiss or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief, low background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, just a really great, loud & clear listen.  

The matrix nos. are; 2383029, A//3-420 stamper 1-1-6, B//2-420 stamper 1-1-3. This is one of the very early copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1970 UK stereo issue of this album.
