Description

Ludwig van Beethoven: Violin Sonata No.9 "Kreutzer"

UK HMV mono pressing with grooved semi-circle Nipper labels.

Article-No.ALP 1319. 2N/2N stampers.


  • Condition Cover: VG. Fully laminated scalloped sleeve with ring and shelf wear. Some creases along the edges, slightly bulged insert.

  • Condition Vinyl: VG to VG+. Hardly any spindle wear. A couple of faint hairlines resp. paperscuffs only. It plays not quite as good

          as it looks, though. I've seen lots of records that looked more battered, yet displayed better audio. I can't put my finger on it here.

          Especially at the beginning of both sides it displays distinct surface noises (I used stereo cartridges only: Ortofon Vinylmaster Silver and Goldring 1042G).

          Audio improves considerably on both sides after a couple of minutes but there's always ar least a mild amount of surface noise audible (not during the forte parts).
          As mentioned: no scratches, no repetitive tics, not much damage to be seen at all. Can still be thoroughly enjoyed, though, and remains a collectable item.

          Could possibly profit considerably from being played with a proper mono pick up.

A note about my record-grading:

I usually only visually grade the LPs under strong light and I only playgrade them ( i.e. the portions that seem to have signs of usage), if I can't be sure of their actual condition.
If records show stronger signs of soiling I'll professionally clean them (Okki Nokki RCM), but I'm not doing this if it's obviously only dust, as I know that collectors usually prefer their
very own way of record-cleaning.

My goal is to always decribe the records appropriately and I will name every visible and/or audible defect in my detailed description. If regardless of my precautions
you should ever be dissatisfied with the condition of a record, please contact me before leaving negative or neutral feedback to give me the chance to resolve your query.
I'm confident, however, that this will hardly ever be the case. I've been selling records for many years now and so far complaints fortunately have been the utter exception!
