GLASTONBURY FAYRE REVELATIONS
This auction is for a copy of the legendary and much sought after
UK Triple Vinyl LP set released on Revelation Records in 1972.
This is just the 3 records in the original fold out poster cover, without the original printed out plastic bag or any of the inserts that originally came with it.
This version has the record labels with the track listing details written in yellow on a darkish green background (rather than the more common black writing), and with the “Glastonbury” writing in bright red with yellow surround. The green background on the labels is without the yellow spots that some copies have.

If you are looking for a mint or even very good condition copy, please do NOT bid on this one.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of scratches on all sides of the discs, many are small hairline surface scratches, and some are bigger ones. However, all 6 sides play through OK without jumping or getting stuck, albeit with pops and crackles along the way . There is also some minor surface noise, due to the age of the discs (over 40 years old) and probably not a very high quality pressing in the first place. Despite all this, this set has given me great listening pleasure over the years.
The fold out poster cover is complete, but it has separated in some places along the creases, and is marked in places, so again not at all perfect. See photos.
But ..
If you have just wanted to own a playable copy of this with its legendary set list to listen to without paying the high prices normally asked for, and can put up with a few pops and crackles along the way, then this is your chance. Only bid on it, if you are happy to accept it in the condition described above.
It captures perfectly the essence of a special time of the early 1970s where it was thought that anything was possible.
This album was released after the first Glastonbury Fair held in 1971 on Michael Eavis’ farm, to try to raise funds for it. The performances on this set are live recordings, but not all from the festival itself, donated by the artists as I understand it.
Who'd have thought then that Glastonbury Festival would grow from that small acorn into the world famous event that it is today?
