Glastonbury Fayre - The Electric Score - Revelations VINYL 3LP Revelation Enterprises Ltd. – REV 1 / REV 2 / REV 3 Foldout sleeve by the famous BARNEY BUBBLES (who did all those amazing HAKWIND covers and later work for STIFF RECORDS)
UK release, Glastonbury Fayre - The Electric Score, states that there were four different UK label variants pressed, all during 1972. This one is a darker green with yellow lettering & no date under the catalogue numbers.
Sadly, no bag or inserts. For Deadheads, the Grateful Dead contributed a live version of Dark Star recorded on their Europe '72 tour (but not on the triple album of the same name) so it's a first release for this particular version. Pete Townshend, Marc Bolan and Bowie gave demo versions of songs for the cause (only Bowie actually played the festival and later it said it saved his career as the audience let him know he was on the right track) - The rest are live from the Glastonbury Fayre 1971 including GONG, PINK FAIRIES and other assorted Heads, maan.
The album was released to try and recuperate money from the 1971 festival which lost thousands, obvs. Hippies, tsk.
Anyway, it's a prime slice of counter culture history, Glastonbury history, and for the cover alone (effectively a limited edition Barney Bubbles print) worth every penny. With my bread head on, this album will only go up in value, not least because it's not tainted by The Man and was a true underground product from a time when the length of your hair told people which side of the fence you were on...
Records in VG++ condition - gorgeous thick vinyl with that warm 70s analogue glow. Sleeve in Very Good Plus (VG+) condition - no ring wear, hot rock marks, or roach tears (and considering the sort of household this once would have belonged to is a minor miracle...) A lovely copy
