About the album
This auction is for The Grateful Dead's "1st Album" vinyl album from 1967 on Warner Brothers Records. It is a US, 1st Edition, Mono pressing (album# W-1689) with the original Gold Warner Bothers label. It is long out of print and quite rare. Vinyl is in VG+ condition with numerous light scuffs that do not effect play. Side 1 label is VG++ with a couple of small scratches. Side 2 label is NM/ M-. Album cover is in NM/M- condition and is pristine. Album is still in shrinkwrap. Note the black stripe on the edge of the album is electrical tape put on the edge of the shrinkwrap to prevent it from tearing by the original owner (great idea as it has worked for 48 years!!!) and it is NOT attached to the album cover (see photo). This album is in amazing condition considering it is 48 years old...a rare find!
About the collection
This record is from my personal collection of high-quality vinyl which I have been collecting for nearly 50 years. Many of the records were acquired during my years as a talent agent in the 1970's. It is being sold because I am retiring and moving to a smaller home.
The collection has been meticulously maintained, stored on custom shelving in a specially designed listening room with optimal temperature and humidity. It has been played only on high-end audio equipment that does not cause damage or wear to the vinyl (Benz cartridges, Scoutmaster VPI turntable).
I adhere strictly to Goldmine grading standards and will gladly address any questions about the album.

Media Mail shipping within the US is $4.00 (economy shipping).
I will combine shipping for $1.50 per additional album.

Paypal or personal check. Payment via Paypal is expected within 48 hours after close of auction. Personal checks need to be received by me no later than 7 days after close of auction. For payment via personal check, album will NOT ship until your check has cleared my bank account.

For legitimate reasons only, such as album not meeting quality levels described in listing. Buyer pays return shipping.
