Guide to grades used Record
Mint I s only used for sealed records or records that we are certain have never been played.
Near Mint or NM Is for the most part as good as it gets! No marks and will play clean with no noise unless inherent in the pressing.
EX+ Will generally have one or two minor flaws, but will overall be near mint.
EX Or Excellent will have light surface marks and some background noise.
EX- Overall an Excellent copy with light surface marks, but with something that distracts, like a small scratch that makes a few pops.
VG+ Consistent background noise, pops but should not skip or stick. Still a playable copy.
VG Has many problems. Noise will dominate. May have quite a few pops and possibly a skip.
VG- Will likely have a skip or two and will be very noisy.
G - Our lowest grade and is actually a poor record.Guide to grades used Cover
Mint
Looks new - no marks, wear or damage
Near Mint
Looks virtually new with signs of handling- Minor wear creases but no marks or damage. Light sleeves may show slight discoloration due to age.
Excellent
Slight signs of wear on edges/spine, corners or ring wear. No damage caused by sticker removal/residue.
Very good
Moderate edge/spine or ring wear. Corners may be a little blunt. Opening edge may show feathering caused by removal of record. Visible creases or laminate lift. Localised sticker removal damage.
Good
Heavy ring or edge/spine wear. Corners noticeable bashed. Heavy creases. Considerable laminate/surface damage.
