A beautiful and deeply atmospheric Brian Eno/Harold Budd collaboration, produced with Daniel Lanois and one of the defining Editions EG ambient releases. The Pearl has become a cornerstone of this period of Eno’s work — spacious, delicate and absorbing, and particularly rewarding on vinyl.
This copy is the UK Editions EG issue, catalogue EGED 37, with the later barcode sleeve 5012985403719 and includes an Editions EG Spring Catalogue 1987 insert. The album itself was originally released in 1984.

Retains a good gloss with hairlines and a few surface marks visible under light. Nothing particularly significant and overall a well-kept record.
Vinyl playback: VG+ overall
A very enjoyable listen overall, although there are passages where playback dips to VG with some audible background noise. Given the quiet, spacious nature of the recording this is worth noting, but the album remains very listenable and atmospheric.
