Description
This is the original release of HEAD EAST'S record "Flat as a Pancake" containing the hit single "Never Been Any Reason". It is the very first release from 1974 on Pyramid Records and is a fine specimen of 1 of only 5,000 ever produced. Unable to get signed by any major record company, the band funded the recording of this album at a small studio in Illinois. Their intent was to sell this record and a limited number of 8 track tapes at their live shows. "Never Been Any Reason" received a lot of air play on Midwest radio stations and the band gained popularity. They soon signed with A&M Records, who saw fit to repackage the record with new artwork and rearrange the running order of the tracks. They actually flipped the sides of the record prior to a national release in 1975. This record is in remarkable condition and does not have any skips or scratches. It has been part of my collection since its original release and has been played very few times, since I recorded it as soon as I bought it to preserve its quality. You can somewhat judge the condition of the album and cover from the photos. They're in extremely good shape for their age. I hate to part with this copy, but I'm disposing of most of my record collection due to downsizing.
