Description
Decca Records stereo SXL 2091, earliest flat-edged heavy vinyl "pancake" pressing (designated in the Mikrokosmos labelography as "ED0"). Wideband black label disc has "Original Recording By..." at upper left. Pressed in England. Stampers are 2E 3E. Laminated flipback sleeve.
"Pancake" pressings are extremely rare on the Decca SXL label, and the few that you do see are usually in boxed sets of operas. Very unusual to find them on single disc issues.

Disc VG++, a few superficial light marks do not sound. Very little spindle wear, this was not played a lot. Play-graded all the way through, it plays with fantastic sound, and a bit of occasional light surface noise that does not detract from the music, which further cleaning may improve. These early flat-edged pressings are never as quiet as later pressings, but they have some of the best sound you will hear, jacket VG++
