Description

FOR SALE: Helen Merrill self-titled LP on Emarcy MG36006.  Features the singer in top form and backed by a stellar lineup that includes Clifford Brown - Trumpet; Danny Banks - Flute; Barry Galbraith - Guitar; Jimmy Jones - Piano; Milt Hinton - Bass; and Osie Johnson - Drums.

This highly collectible original first issue label LP plays upper end VG with some minor surface noise throughout. I am grading with the serious collector in mind. This is a fine playing record with no significan tics or pops. Surface is shiny with high gloss, but it has some spots of sleeve scuffs that cause a little noise. There are no feelable scratches and surface blemishes. Labels are upper end VG plus with minor spindle marks. Front cover image is clean and without blemish, so VG plus. Edges are without splits - NO SEAM SPLITS WHATSOEVER - and back cover and edges have some foxing/staining. Back cover has what appears to be the original price written in pencil at upper top left above the L. So back cover is VG. Plenty of the other covers selling these days suffer splits, but not this one. Record has been stored and will be shipped in a seperate generic cover so as to preserve the seams on the original cover.

Goldmine grading standards used.

I will cap this price at US$35, and that rate is necessary to provide International buyers with the protection they deserve for this fine record.
