ORIGINAL 1968 MATT TEXTURED TRACK LABEL UK FIRST PRESSING STEREO DOUBLE ALBUM, WITH ORIGINAL LAMINATED GATEFOLD SLEEVE WITH BLUE TEXT, WHITE TRACK LOGO AND LARGE PHOTOGRAPHS OF MITCH AND NOEL.

This album from JIMI HENDRIX is the very rare and genuine first UK pressing released in 1968, A very hard album to find with a blue text & white track logo sleeve, This is NOT the later white text pressing with the postage stamp size band photographs. or the even more common red Polydor issue, it is a genuine first issue.
This album is the rare first issue with fully laminated Ernest J Day gate fold cover with blue text and white track logo and larger photographs of band members Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding, the matrix numbers on the double album are Side A - 613 008 A//1, Side D - 613 008 B//1, Side B - 613 009B A//1, Side C - 613 009 B//1, Unlike later pressings, this rare first edition was not printed in large amounts, and it was not on the shelves too long before being replaced with the more well known white text edition with smaller photographs. This album I am offering here is a true first UK pressing and an album regarded as one of the greatest albums ever made. It has its original poly lined inners which are numbered 833 and 834, they are reasonably clean though one of them has split down one side
The double album features fifteen great tracks and is in all round very good condition with NO STICKS or SKIPS.

The VINYL, The Vinyl I have just played and can state is in very good condition. both visually and audibly. It plays through very well, with just the lightest background noise to be heard hear and there. visually, the vinyl looks very good but a has superficial surface mark on one track which does not effect the audio. Needless to say it plays free from sticks or skips.
The SLEEVE, The rare fully laminated Ernest J Day Gatefold sleeve is in good condition, it is showing some creasing, feathering to the opening, and some wear to the spine and edges. On the positive side there are no unwanted names or splits etc.
The LABELS, The matt textured Track labels are displaying lots of spindle wear otherwise are clean. Needless to say there are no unwanted stickers or unwanted writing etc.
All in all a respectable playing copy of this monumental classic for someone who wants an original in their collection and who does not want to pay £500+ for a mint copy.
I try to be accurate in my grading as I know what its like to buy miss graded items but won't insult you by writing song lyrics etc
