Description

HERON Heron (Dawn DNLS 3010) Same Self Titled RARE UK 1st Pressing MINT
Here`s an extremely RARE original very first UK pressing of Heron`s debut album of the same name, released on Dawn Records (November 1970).
Pastoral folk-rock of prime pedigree, here the term "pastoral" is truly justified, as "Heron" was recorded on the banks of the River Thames. Somewhat overrated in this writer`s view, "Heron" is nevertheless a major collector`s item that will delight fans of all things acoustic, from Incredible String Band to Devendra Banhart and beyond.
GRADING:
MINT- COVER, perfect except for a slightest touch of grubbiness to the very delicate (this is pastoral folk, after all!) white areas of the sleeve.  Please see photos for details.
- No creasing, no edge scuffing and a razor-sharp spine.

MINT(-) RECORD that looks unplayed! This record will be very difficult to top, as it`s very close to perfect.
- No visible signs of play, no hairlines, no spindle wear, nothing.
- Play-graded also a very near-perfect MINT(-), with practically no crackle at all, even in the run-in and between tracks.
- Under bright light, the record has a few faintest "wave" imprints, showing that the lp was previously stored in a plastic-lined inner sleeve.     This kind of imprint is, of course, completely inaudible.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "A-1", respectively "B-1", clearly indicating a very first UK pressing of "Heron".

Finally, here`s your chance to own a copy of "Heron" that looks almost as nice as that day it originally sold, 42 years ago!
