Another from my personal collection! Rarest, earliest 1st UK pressing ((mono)) these are the most sought after! The vinyl is near mint, this has barely been played more than a handful of times, unbeleivable for over 40 years old like this! Purchased from new. I initially only ever played this to record to tape and then stored in a case with the vinyl seperated from the sleeve and cover for protection!,, this is how I have always stored my records!! The ausio is absolutely awesome, graded as near mint throughout, play tested on a top system at very loud volume using a dedicated mono cartridge prior to listing this will be hard to surpass!!! very rare archive copy!!! 

Butterfly is the second of two 1967 albums by The Hollie. It was also the last new Hollies album to feature Graham Nash until 1983's What Goes Around!. This, like its predecessors For Certain Because and Evolution, featured songs written solely by Allan Clarke, Graham Nash, and Tony Hicks!.

As noted below, this album was really a Graham Nash-led project, and he featured as lead vocal more than on any prior album!!.

As with Evolution, none of the songs on the album were selected for single or EP release in the UK. In the U.S., "Dear Eloise" was issued as a single A-side, and "Try It" and "Elevated Observations?" were issued as B-sides!!.

In 1978, Parlophone reissued Butterfly with new cover art, and again in 1999. Almost all current CD issues of this album contain the original cover art. The 1998 U.S. CD reissue of Dear Eloise/King Midas In Reverse by Sundazed presents the original UK Butterfly track lineup with "King Midas In Reverse", "Leave Me" and "Do The Best You Can" added to the tracklisting!!.

The Vinyl

On initial inspection the vinyl looks absolutely stunning like new in my opinion! it is hard to see a blemish there are (no) scratches that I can see at all or any this that are audio sounding! Any marks that could possibly be seen in strong light would be light whispy sleeve removal \scuffs only and (non) audio sounding at all! It is quite obvious and on  inspection, that this vinyl has barely ever been played at all!. barely two or three spider marks only!

The Audio Quality

I have played this vinyl at very loud volume on a top system prior to listing, using a dedicated mono cartridge! There is not much to say , but this played through near perfect on my system as good as it gets in my personal opinion! Cristal clear and vibrant throughout without the usual static ticks or background noise that is so common on 47 year old vinyls! There are (no) loud clicks or pops and certainly (no) skips or jumps! The Audio is graded as near mint! Perfect on my system and the only way to hear this album is the original mono in my opinion!

Please note I always add this disclaimer!Please allow for the odd static tick\crackle   (not) consistant throughout the audio! Please remember that this is a genuine 44 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 44 year old system! (Although to be honest I never heard anything at all, graded at the top on all frequencies) very near perfect on my system!!!

Please note! This album has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 25 years! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static crackle\ticks. A constant clean before each play is recomended! This will reduce any static and enhance the audio quality!

The Labels

These Feature the 1st issue Yellow\Black Parlophone labels in stunning condition! Feature ''Sold In The UK....'' text across the labels (only 1st press) K.T Tax Code is stamped on side 2 label (Only 1st UK press) Only angled to the light can very very minimal spidering be seen , prehapes just two opr three this has barely been played at all! Initially I only ever played this vinyl to record to tape and then this was stored in a case for over 40 years, try to find better! Little if (no) spindle ware the hole is perfectly round!!

The Record Sleeve

This is the original EMI advertising serpier sleeve with (no) splits or tares very rare to find like this!

The Cover

This is the original 1st issue\1st press Garrod & Lofthouse laminated front flipback cover absolutely stunning condition throughout! The super glossy laminate has nor real creases worth to mention and there are you have to look for to notice the reare is truly exceptionaly clean and tidy, nice and square corners! Any yellowing with age are only noticable if scrutinised. This 47 year old original cover must grade at least excellent plus! Unbeleivably rare to ever find like this!
