Description
This is the initial pressing of Heart's 1977 album, *Little Queen* (catalog #JR-34799). The lacquer was expertly cut and mastered by John Golden at Kendun Recorders, a highly respected engineer in the industry. The pressing and plating were completed at Columbia's Santa Maria facility.
It is noteworthy that this album was released merely one month after their previous album, *Magazine*, a consequence of a contractual dispute. This unique circumstance led to the remarkable achievement of having three of their albums simultaneously on the charts.
An interesting anecdote regarding this album is the origin of the song "Barracuda." The track was penned in response to a reporter's inappropriate inquiry to Ann Wilson concerning her romantic partner, implying a relationship with her sister and bandmate, Nancy Wilson. This insinuation provoked their indignation, leading directly to the creation of "Barracuda."
The vinyl itself is in exceptional condition, exhibiting near-flawless characteristics. The labels are perfectly flat with no indications of prior play, and the wax is remarkable, featuring deep grooves, an extremely dark and glossy finish, appearing unplayed save for a few faint hairlines.
The original custom-printed inner sleeve, which includes lyrics and credits, presents as new and is in excellent condition with only minimal wear.
The original textured cover retains its full gloss, free from cutouts, splits, or rips. All four corners are well-preserved, the colors are vibrant, and the surface is crisp and smooth to the touch, presenting as a solid EX with only very light shelf wear.
This item represents a truly remarkable piece of music history and is a highly desirable collector's item.
