Henry Jacobs 2 Interviews of our times 7” NM Beatnik comedy psych 1955
Rare OZ EP released in 1955 on Vogue Records. Cat: VE170132. Rarely seen original 7" issue of this strange and funny spoken word comedy recording from the beat generation era, with the pioneering experimental DJ/poet/filmmaker Henry Jacobs' hilarious trippy interviews of himself as the characters Sholem Stein and Shorty Petterstein (who would later get his own solo album) babbling on about the meaning of jazz. These tracks would a few years later be included on Jacobs' friend Lenny Bruce's first album, "Lenny Bruce's Interviews Of Our Times", with an almost identical cover, but this 45rpm 7" issue was their first release. Overall, a very cool artifact of proto-psychedelic beatnik spoken weirdness, with a great cover parodying the beat-poet-intellectual-hipster stereotype.Tracks: Interview with Dr. Sholem Stein/ Interview with Shorty Pederstein.
Record is in Near Mint condition. Cover has a few light age spots and a name written on back top edge and is in Excellent condition.

Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.

Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.
