For sale is History Of British Rock, released in 1974 on Sire Records in a double record set with a gate-fold presentation. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are etched "Sterling" followed by "PR", indicating that it was mastered at Sterling Sound, N.Y.C. and pressed at Presswell Records Manufacturing, N.J. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering and pressing facilities that have produced superior sounds in this recording. I bought this used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 and immediately put these albums, like all my records, into two MFSL archival inner sleeves. This preserves the integrity of any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the record. The inner sleeves are Excellent with wrinkles and some bent corners. The cover is graded as VG+ because of edge rubs, ring wear, corner blunts and a punched hole in the corner. The spine has a little color loss because of these rubs. The vinyl is visually graded as Excellent because of surface scratches that do not affect playback, but I would play grade it as Near Mint. I heard one tick over the entire two record set, without any surface noise. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I've owned it and it still has a lot of life left to it. This is the best copy of this hard to find record that I have ever seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find one like this one ever again. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. I have more Rock and Roll records as well as albums of all genres in my Ebay store. Please take a look as they're almost all Near Mint. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
