VARIOUS ARTISTS "INTERNATIONAL BEAT" LP
ORIGINAL 1968 LP ON THE Hungarian QUALITON LABEL, LPX 17384
Very obscure (and old – 1968, boys and girls!) compilation from Hungary of all places, INTERNATIONAL BEAT. And the best part of it is, it doesn’t seem like ANY of these bands appear anywhere else! Okay, the Subjects’ killer clean-cut Rubble popsike gem “Headlines” DID appear on an old PRAE KRAUT PANDEMONIUM volume, and they were also smart to use that great cover shot of the hot hippie chick in the teal leggings. The Subjects were, of course, a German band, from Munich, and are also represented by two OTHER gems on here, but the biggest chunk of vinyl yardage here goes to the Yellow Popcorn Band, who turn in tune after tune of great unheard-of shakin’ mod beat British Invasion grooves, the best of which are “Neighbours, Neighbours,” “Lovely Ladies” and a cover of Lennon-McCartney’s “Slow Down.” Also featured – two cuts by Don Adams, who’s probably NOT the GET SMART guy. Never seen this before, and not since, yet there’s a small treasure trove of undiscovered beat pop and popsike gems on here to be found. Plus a guitar-slinging babe in paisley miniskirt and teal leggings.

NM : Near Mint.
Record = is as good as new and clear. May have some minor paper scuffs or/and tiny hairlines.
Cover = as new with maybe the slightest signs of wear on corners, edges, spine or surface.
EX : Excellent.
Record = Still very clear with more hairlines or/and some small scuffs.
Cover = there is a bit wear on corners, edges and surface, slight wrinkle, minor writing on back.
VG+ : Very Good+.
Record = clear but you can see some light scratches and/or some small scuffs across the surface.
Cover = is still looking good, but there is some wear on corners & edges,slight creasing. There are split in the seams, wear or/and small sticker damage on the surfacewithout any major defects.
VG : Very Good.
Record = you can see many noticeable scratches or scuffs, some may cause distracting surface noise.
Cover = there is real wear on corners, edges and spine.There are splits in the seams, serious surface-wear, price sticker damage, small tears or duct tape seam repairs, other not too significant flaws or damage.
G : Good.
