UBER Rare miss- labeled Stereo Pressing with LONG PLAY / MICROGROOVE (standard Mono Labels & Jacket). Not the wrong album put in the wrong sleeve , but an actual manufacturer's miss-labeled item! I did not first notice this by seeing the "S" in the run off vinyl matrix , but rather, by listening to the supposedly mono pressing jump out of my stereo in AMAZING STEREO SOUND ! Far superior sound to the earliest copies of THE EARLY BEATLES on Capitol , in my humble opinion. A real shocker! In fact I bought the LP mostly because the cover is in such good shape for this 1963 or 1964 pressing! The label has so many spindle marks I figured the sound wouldn't be too great even though I could see that the vinyl was handled with care , such disregard for the labels , by franticly pressing down while searching for the spindle hole simply could not be a good sign! Much to my surprise (an outside chance) the vinyl plays absolutely beautifully with only light to moderate surface noise between most cuts. No scratch tics , no cueing tics , and only on two songs ; PLEEASE PLEASE ME & BABY IT'S YOU can you even begin to hear any  surface noise at all during the cut. Obviously side two was the favorite side , but after the second cut the songs all play with NO NOTICEABLE surface noise at all and only a friendly surface noise between most cuts. I have listened to this album twice once on my best system and once again the next day on a brighter system with surround sound option and I have yet to hear any scratch , no cueing tics at all and only light surface noise between cuts (the exception being the first two songs on side two during which you can hear a very slight surface noise if you listen for it carefully). This album was played quite a bit , but with a good stylus ,set up classically , and the Lp has been handled very well. A classical set up on the stylus gives you the optimum position of the stylus in the crescendo of the last cut (for the finale' of a symphony etc , rather than putting optimum setting at about an inch and a half from the end of an album as a compromise setting) which is the easiest on lp wear overall. Most bad surface noise is from a combination of a poorly set up stylus that was used even after undo wear occurred. That is simply not the case here. This was played a lot, but on very good equipment! The true STEREO pressings on VJ are actually worth a lot of money because most stereo pressings available are actually counterfeits, that, also, is not the case here. UBER RARE MISS PRINT  Stereo Lp Labeled with authentic VJ (Brackets) MONO version Labels Logo Centered Credits Left-Justified Titles Dead Wax Matrix Includes URJ on both sides Dead Wax Matrix Includes ARC 274 on both sides Dead Wax Engraving Includes S (for stereo) on both sides Side 1 : S (about a half inch space) 63-3402     ARC274(very light) URJ Side2:  S       63-3403-1             ARC274          URJ Mostly the songs have the Vocals & Drums with Rhythm Guitar & piano on the right and the Lead Guitar , Drums , Bass Guiar and some harmonica & some backup vocals on the left channel , but it's not quite that simple because Echo and Echo effect are employed as well . Some songs move all of the "Drums" to the Left channel but still have "Sticks" on the right and some flamboyance is added with the accent or echo switches sides. A very nice stereo production! Some songs also have the most electric sections of guitar on both channels , but with an interesting separation as the guitar finishes each lick. So I am in a bit of a quandary as the true Vee Jay Stereo pressings sell quite high , but this one has spindle marks and a small split starting in the lower RH corner. I am not really wanting to overprice it , nor do I think I should "give it away". Look for a very low reasonable price for this rare pressing (since it has spindle marks despite overall fantastic sound!
