Description
Lovely and fetching and quite talented blues singer LUCILLE HEGAMIN (1894 - 1970) started her recording career in 1920 - three years before Bessie Smith - and was quite a success from the start, rivaling and even surpassing Mamie Smith with the sales of her records.
Accompanied by (SAM) WOODING'S SOCIETY ENTERTAINERS, Lucille belts her way through two of the current (1922) trenchant blues laments: "SEND BACK MY HONEY MAN" and "I'VE GOT TO COOL MY PUPPIES NOW."
Wooding's band acquits itself well, and would go on to fame in Europe, spending most of the '20s there to general acclaim.
This original 1922 blue-label "pop" series Paramount 20151 is in E- condition. It has a rim-to-label hair crack, which behaves itself quite well. Stabilized at the rim. Record is in pitch (Bb) at c. 85 rpm!

I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care.
