Genuine original copy of the 'Soundhouse Tapes'.

It's got all the markings and the cover is correct. I bought it at Neal Kay's Soundhouse back in 1979/80. Can't remember who sold it me, probably a roadie or a Band member girlfriend... but I do remember knocking Steve Harris's pint over at the bar one time! Fair play to him after I offered him another he said 'No worries mate, I drink too much anyway!'

Haven't played it for years because I've not had a turntable for years, but it got played a fair bit back in the day.

It's in good nick though, a couple of light scratches that's all. The cover shows signs of wear where it's been with my other singles in the case, mostly ring marks, with a bit of wear at the top end from the record going in and out. There's also some small indentations in the centre of the front cover pic.

There's no Maiden merchandise card with it, but when I took the single out last week, my old Bandwagon (Soundhouse) membership card fell out (wondered where that went!) It's well tatty, but then it got sweated on and covered with beer in the back pocket of me jeans for 2/3 years when anyone who WAS anyone in NWOBHM appeared at the Soundhouse in Kingsbury. If any chemist analysed the card, he'd probably find a few more substances on it ;)

So it's a little bonus for someone who is into NWOBHM history.

The Soundhouse was only Neal Kay's name for the Heavy Metal club nights on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The rest of the time it was the Bandwagon Disco and had been for years, attached to the side of the Prince of Wales Pub on Kingsbury roundabout in London NW9. The inside was done up like a Wild West saloon.... great if you were headbanging to ZZ Top or Skynyrd but a bit weird for anything else....sadly, it's all disappeared now and is an Iceland store or something.

Maiden were a brilliant band then. We followed them around... the Music Machine in Camden, the Marquee in Soho and of course the Ruskin Arms in East Ham. I fell out of love with them when they sacked Paul Di'Anno, what a front man he was with a brilliant voice. They were all good lads though, always mixed with the crowd in the Soundhouse.
