More KILLER JAZZ this week! This is easily the most amazing session Jackie McLean every recorded!! This is the ultimate MASTERPIECE!! The music takes the rhythms of hard bop and stretches the boundaries and takes the music 'one step beyond'! The music is quite cerebral with the sophistication of the solos are developed by Bobby Hutcherson (vibes), McLean (alto sax) and Grachan Moncur (trombone). There are four songs on the album and they are all original compositions (two penned by Mclean and Moncur respectively). The session was a prelude to the 'new' sound that was developing at the time. Musicians were looking to create a more advanced sound and free jazz was not too far off in the horizon. Hutcherson's vibes are amazing with a soulful quality, layered with hints of haunting modal sounds!! This gets my highest recommendation and shows a glimpse into the genius otherwise known as Jackie McLean...GOOD LUCK!! RARE!!! Check out the selection of jazz coming in...

VINYL: VG++ slight paper scuffs that DO NOT affect play (test played)
COVER: VG++ slight wear on bottom right corner, very minimal.
