DESCRIPTION

Jackie Paris - “Songs By Jackie Paris / Can’t Get Started With You” Wing Records MGW-60004 (Mono) from 1956. Hard to Find Original Deep Groove First Pressing of this great Jazz Vocal album from Jackie Paris with backing Arranged and Conducted by Manny Albam and featuring players like Hal McKusick, Frankie Socolow, Ed Wasserman, Sam Marowitz, Al Epstein, Bill Triglia, Barry Galbraith, Milt Hinton, Osie Johnson, Janet Putnam and Romeo Penque. First pressing on the Deep Groove Blue with Silver Print Wing labels and in the Original Laminated Sleeve with no Cutouts, Promo markings or Barcode. For what it’s worth, the Cover shows the Title as “Songs By Jackie Paris” while the Labels call it “Can’t Get Started With You”. Also, the Cover shows the Catalog Number as MGW-60004 while the Labels say “W-60004".

CONDITION

The Laminated Sleeve is in nice shape. There is some slight shelf wear, corner softening and a bit of laminate lifting around the bottom and opening edges. The white back is somewhat yellow and there are red grease pencil marks by each song title. Still super solid with no cutouts, splits, stains, other writing, tears, etc. and would rate VG. The Vinyl itself is in clean Glossy condition looking pretty lightly played. If you look closely you can spot a few slight scuffs and hairlines. Plays pretty much perfectly Near Mint all through with the exception of a couple soft tics and spots of very slight groove noise - I doubt you would notice them. Probably a good VG to VG+ visually but plays WAY better. There are a couple light spindle trails  but otherwise the labels are Near Mint.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less!
