JACKY, White Horses, original Philips UK 1968 LP.

White Horses was a 1965 television series from Yugoslavia, the series comprised of thirteen 25 minute black and white episodes. A ‘dubbed’ version was broadcast in the United Kingdom from 1968.

An original hard to find Philips UK 1968 LP, featuring:

1. Jackie Lees debut LP from 1968,

2. interesting to note the sleeve/record label printed inconsistancies, being:

a. printed on the sleeve is, ‘I can sing a rainbow’, but printed on the record label, it reads just, ‘Sing a rainbow’,

b. printed on the sleeve is, ‘Well thats loving you’ and, ‘Well thats lovin’ you’. Printed on the record label it reads, ‘Well thats loving you’,

c. printed on the sleeve is, ‘Too many chiefs and not enough Indians’, and ‘Too many chiefs not enough Indians’, printed on the record label it reads, Too many chiefs not enough Indians’,

3. there is an old original shop label on the inner sleeve that reads, ‘GE HOFENK Grammofoonplaten Platenspelers, Haarlemmerstraat, Leiden’. Even though this is a UK record it must have been sold at this shop in Leiden, South Holland at some point,

4. comes with its original, period dated ‘058’, being May 1968 inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition, the sleeve is laminated on the front. The spine is in very good condition, there is some slight wear to the centre of the spine but most of the text on the spine is readable. The rear of the sleeve features the original UK ‘tri flip back’ design, ie fold over edges. Theres NO pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is some slight age related marks on the rear of the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good condition and is the original period ‘dated 058’, being May 1968 inner sleeve. Theres NO pen writing, splits or tears. Apart from the above mentioned ‘label’, there are no other stickers. There is NO sticker residue on the inner sleeve. There is some age related marks each side to the inner sleeve.

THE RECORD: side one is in excellent condition, side two is in near excellent condition. The record is made of the period 1960s, quality thick heavy vinyl. The record has remained very dark and glossy.

The matrix are: 844218 – 1/Y // 1 420 112 and 844218 2/Y // 1 420 123.

The mother / stampers are: n/a ?.

THE AUDIO: each side of the record plays excellent. On side two I did hear some light ‘ticks’ at the end of track six. The record lays flat on the turntable and plays with an excellent full powerful period stereo sound.

THE RECORD LABELS: each record label is in excellent condition. Each of the record labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.

THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
