Description

JAMES BROWN  & The Fabulous Flames - "Try Me" LP
King 635 Mono Silver-on-Black label
1959 1st Edition with "Smoking Gun" cover
Curved "crownless" King logo

Vinyl Cond: VG-, play-graded.  Light popping throughout, a VERY full, rich sound.  No locked grooves, pure gritty R&B in the way only a young James Brown could sound.
Cover Cond: VG-/G+ with general minor wear throughout.  Someone taped the top and bottom years ago with black tape, pretty subtle though.

Here it is, the impossible-to-find first edition of "Try Me," so early that you couldn't even put the King of Soul on the cover, so we have the femme-fatale "smoking gun" cover instead.  This sound is incredible, early JB with that so so gritty 50's R&B sound.  Only Andre Williams even comes close.
