JAMES P. JOHNSON: New York Jazz, 3X 12" 78rpm, Asch Records 1944. James P. Johnson was born in 1894, and passed away in 1955. He was an important transitional figure between ragtime and jazz piano. He also backed up many of the 1920's classic blues singers, including Bessie Smith. I believe this is his first music released on vinyl (actually shellac). The records are VG Plus and the cover is VG, showing a bit of wear. This rare 3 record 78rpm set is over 75 years old.
