CROCANTE HABANERO / QUE SERA ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by JAVIER VAZQUEZ Y SU SALSA canta CHITO produced by JOE CAIN guitar by VINNIE BELL. Original US promo pressing on the ALEGRE label (3711), from 1974. Desirable and infectious Nuyorican latin by the legendary Puerto Rican pianist, Javier Vazquez with group. Funkier and more psychedelic than the other 2 singles we've recently sold. Features the killer CROCANTE HABANERO club tune... another fine example of the salsa genre and again, just as hot as his Quiero Beber and Siguelo recording. Funky salsa with montuno bassline / psych wah wah by Vincent Bell (the electric sitar / proto fuzzbox - wah wah pedal pioneer and guitarist on the Mauricio Smith Bitter Acid session) / superb montuno piano solos by Javier midway / fantastic horn section and rhythms / hard percussion and lead vocals by Chito. Great for DJs. Big record with latin collectors as this is the little known and super-obscure promotional 7-inch with maybe the best theme from his La Verdad aka The Truth Lp session. Production by Joe Cain (of Morris Levy's Tico label fame). Seldom comes up for sale. Guaguanco / mambo and latin soul with funky crossover sound. Very rare 45!!!

Vinyl is closer to shiny M- condition overall with some hairlines from sleeve removal and a few cosmetic only pressing marks. Light surface noises. Item taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played once for the recording of the soundclip. Small 'x' notation in pen to one side of label. Record housed in generic white card sleeve. Very rare 45!!!
