How we grade the condition of our records:
We carefully grade our vinyl to ensure yoursatisfaction. Most evaluation has to be done visually, as there isn't time tolisten to everything, though sometimes it is necessary to double check byplaying the item and this is mentioned when done.
MINT (M): The record itself is in brand newcondition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The coverand any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfectcondition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
NEAR MINT (M-): The record is as above with themerest slight imperfection to an otherwise Mint item. This might be somethingsuch as the label having light spindle marks or because it has come from a previousowner and is assumed to have been played by them.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs ofhaving been played, but there is little or no lessening in sound quality. Thecover and packaging might have very slight wear.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously beenplayed many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wearand tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much thatthe sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion andmild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
