Description
JESS & JAMES (BELTER 22.434, BELTER 1970) M-/M(-)
Second lp of the portuguese duo of Antonio and Fernando Lameirinhas (alias Tony & Wando Lam) helped by Scott Bradford, this are basically the very same people who’ll put out the fantastic and very much in-demand "Free Pop Electronic Concept" and who later evolved into the J.J Band and, relocated to the netherlands, Sail-Joia.
Apart from the typical white-boy soul numbers they were famed for (best heard on their first album) this lp includes nice moves into psych and early prog territories. Unlike their debut, here tracks are longer and give space to instrumental solo and interplay. A typical product from the end of the Sixties.
Haven’t listened to this album in some years and was surprised to hear the weird psych atmosphere on the album (like the weird steel drums solo on Skathing which develops in a hypnotic psych jam).
Tracklist: STRAIGHT MAN, MRS.DAVIS, PERDITION AGAIN, LIP SERVICE, SHE’S A WOMAN, SKATHING, A PASSING CAR, JAMES STUFF)
As always… thanks for looking and good luck with your bids!
