I AM OFFERING ANOTHER HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER PROG / PSYCH ROCK VINYL LP RARITY FROM MY COLLECTION OF SIMILAR ITEMS !! THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST PROG ALBUMS EVER MADE  IT WILL DEFINITELY BE IN THE TOP TEN BEST PSYCH/PROG ALBUMS EVER CONCEIVED!!!!!!HARD TO FIND AS A FIRST PRESS THESE DAYS. THIS IS THE "EYE" LABEL WHICH IS THE ONLY ORIGINAL FIRST PRESS ISSUE FOR THIS CLASSIC ALBUM. LATER LABELS ARE MORE COMMON LIKE THE "I" LABEL AND THE PALM TREE LABEL. THERE IS ALSO A HARDER TO FIND "BLOCK" LOGO WHICH IS EQUALLY RARE BUT STRICTLY SECOND PRESS.

A fantastic ultra heavy vinyl and even despite a couple of light hairlines this plays phenomenally. The ultra high groove walls ensure the very best audio experience possible for this album. The vinyl retains its beautiful gloss and has probably not been played very much. The earliest ISLAND vinyl is the equivalent of a Rolls Royce in the motor industry; heavy, long lasting and nearly indestructible. Of course NO skips, jumps, crackle etc.

This ranks up there with alot of near perfect albums that really don't get talked about a lot in magazines or shows about great albums but it should.
I remember the first time hearing this whole album on vinyl at a friends house and it just blew my mind and this was back in 2002 not 1969. This just shows you how great the songs are and the guitar playing is on this, the fact that it still rocks yet has a really melodic soft side says something. I think this needed maybe another couple of harder rocking tracks to make it just picture perfect though.

Choice cuts off this to me would have to be the album opener "A New Day Yesterday" one of my favorites to play on my bass and sing along to. The next few would have to be Look Into the sun,Nothing Is Easy,Reasons for waiting and for a thousand Mothers.

My only complaints would have to be with stuff like Jeffrey goes to Leicester Square and fat man would have worked a tiny bit better with a harder guitar part along with the folky sound.

The great instrumental "Bouree" is a great relaxing Sunday instrumental to listen to, while sipping tea and relaxing after a long week at work. The last ballad on the album "Reasons For Waiting" is perfect to play for a young lady in hopes of showing her your sensitive side.  

It may not be the most heavy or talked about Tull album but its certainly among their best and if someone only has this and says the rest of the Tull albums weren't for them I could totally understand that. (review: rateyourmusic.com)

Vinyl: VG+. A smashing ultra heavy first press vinyl with a few of wispy shallow hairlines. The groove walls on these first Island pressings are extremely high and it sounds!! These earliest Island and Decca vinyls are the Rolls royces of vinyl, fantastic built quality. The audio is splendid and the stereo separation supreme!! Of course NO jumps, sticks or skips. Just some light static on the deadwax in between tracks.

Gatefold sleeve: EX.  Hard to find this sleeve in such great condition. Usually you will find sticker tears and torn flip-ups with lots of creases. Not this copy!! The "stand up" is completely intact without any repairs or tears. There are no creases and there is only very light storage wear. The spine is still 100% legible.

This is a unique investment opportunity!!! The next prog album to go completely through the roof. Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible so late in the day. Get this while you still can. This value of the album is only going to go one way ... up and up ... until it will be totally unavailable at all for a reasonable price.
