Description

Hi, and welcome to "psych_out!" auctions!!!

I specialize in 50's, 60's, and early 70's records of almost every genre - Psych, Prog, Psychedelic Funk, Soul, Rhythm 'n' Blues, Pop, Folk, Garage, Acid, Freakbeat, Rock, Jazz e.t.c and everything in between! I've been dealing records for years, but i'm new to the ebay game so i'd like to tell you all of my intentions. I travel all over the UK hunting out the VERY BEST records I can find. Obviously, 90%+ of the ones I can find are completely trashed from the hard living ways and the rock 'n' roll, drug and booze fuelled debauchery of all the wild parties of the times, but the golden 10%? I offer them to all of you serious record collectors out there!!!

I'm going to start by listing 20 LP's a week every Friday and Saturday, all timed to end 10 days later on Monday and Tuesday night. Hopefully after a while, i'll be able to step things up a gear or two in good time. I'll only ever offer THE BEST, MOST AMAZINGMOST IMPORTANTVERY RAREST UK 1ST PRESS ORIGINAL RELEASE RECORDS I can ever possibly find!!! I won't insult you with later 2nd pressings unless they are of exceptional quality and rarity. I'm sure you love good music as much as me, especially when it's a 1st Press LP, direct from the master tape, as the musicians intended it to be heard (none of this "digitally remastered", weak reissued, remixed rubbish from hired hands with one eye on the mixing desk and the other on the clock! If these session men really knew how genius should sound, surely they would've been geniuses themselves?! There will only ever be one Hendrix, and that's just a tiny example).

I intend to become one of the best sellers on ebay and would like to thank all of you potential bidders for your support and taste in music!!! I strictly grade all LP's I list, visually and sonically (on a very lightweight turntable) using the UK RC standards as customer satisfaction is highly important to me, and i'll always do my very best not to let you down. Be sure to add me to your favourite sellers list and check my auctions frequently as i'll be listing some gems that you just WON'T want to miss out on!!!

I think that's everything, so let the auction commence!!!

Title :  Jethro Tull - Stand Up

Label & year : Island / Chrysalis ILPS 9103 , Original Stereo UK 1969 1st Press!!!

Matrix's : Side A : ILPS+9103+A , Side B : ILPS+9103+B.

About : Ultra rare Original 1st Press!!! This MASSIVELY RARE LP sold barely anything as a 1st issue (LP's were VERY expensive for most people back then!) and therefore had a very, very small run and is INCREDIBLY HARD TO FIND, especially in this condition!!! AN absolute classic LP from this incredible band!!! An astonishing album that really DESERVES to be in EVERY serious 60's / 70's record collection!!! Don't miss out on this MEGA RARE LP, bid now!!!

I love this album - easily Tull's best!!!

Tracklist : A New Day Yesterday, Jeffrey Goes To Leicester Square, Bouree, Back To The Family, Look Into The Sun, Nothing Is Easy, Fat Man, We Used To Know, Reasons For Waiting, and For A Thousand Mothers.

Musicians : Ian Anderson, Martin Lancelot Barre, Glen Cornick, and Clive Bunker.

The LP :

Labels : Beautiful 1st Press labels. Both sides are FANTASTIC with NO nasty wear, marks OR any writing whatsoever!!! There's only a small amount of mild age marks and a few ultra light spindle marks!!! TRULY INCREDIBLE for a 37 year old record!!! Must grade overall as Very Good+++ if not better!!!

Record : Spectacular Ultra Thick 1st Press Vinyl!!! Nice bright, clean and shiny as if it was just pressed!!! Fantastic jet black mirror like surfaces, it looks ASTONISHING with NO nasty marks, and NO scratches whatsoever!!! The only real blemishes are just mild wear such as a couple of dots and a few mega light, wispy sleeve traces and hairline scratches (only visible in strong light) mostly caused from where it has sat or been removed from it's cover over the years!!! Still UNBELIEVABLE for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall visually as Very Good if not better!!! Thankfully, it plays EVEN BETTER than it's visual grade, thanks to the ultra heavy 1st Island vinyl, with fantastic stereo seperation and clarity!!! It really sounds amazing with NO hops, distortion, sticks, or skips!!! Only (like most records) has truly minimal pops and clicks throughout the whole LP (only 4 at the beginning of Back To The Family is all I can recall), and just a bit of low level "bluesman's fag" static crackle in places such as the run in grooves and between tracks, though it doesn't come close to overshadowing or ruining the music AT ALL and can only really be heard in quieter sections!!! I'd even argue it gives it added soul!!! Believe me, it sounds FANTASTIC!!! It was a HUGELY enjoyable listen!!! UNHEARD OF for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall audiably as Very Good+++ if not better!!!

Sleeve : Original 1st Press gatefold pop up cover complete with original inner!!! Very hard to find in anything approaching a good condition - most are spent, torn and worn due to age, rarity, and the lifestyles of the buyers of this particular LP!!! This one is NOT and looks GREAT!!! NO graffiti, NO writing, NO tears, NO splits, and still strong and solid after all these years!!! Only has a few usual age blemishes such as a some light whitening on the seams from shelve wear, a hint of ringwear and a bit of dulling to the white back, and one side of the pop up has been taped down where it has become unglued (though it looks VERY tidy, works perfectly, and hasn't been torn at all!!!), but that's about it and it STILL looks absolutely awesome!!! EXCEPTIONAL for this fragile sleeve!!! Must grade overall as Very Good++++ if not better!!! (apologies for any light reflection in the pics)

Summary : A truly FANTASTIC copy of this ASTONISHINGLY RARE CLASSIC 1ST PRESS LP!!! Don't miss out!!!
