Description

Hi, and welcome to psych_out! auctions!!!

I specialize in 50's, 60's, and early 70's records of almost every genre - Psych, Prog, Psychedelic Funk, Soul, Rhythm 'n' Blues, Pop, Folk, Garage, Acid, Freakbeat, Rock, Jazz e.t.c and everything in between!!! I try my best to consistently offer some of the VERY BEST records available on ebay!!! Obviously, 90%+ of the LP's I ever get hold of are completely trashed from the hard living ways and the rock 'n' roll, drug and booze fuelled debauchery of all the wild parties of the times, but the golden 10%? I offer them to all of you serious record collectors out there!!!

I'm going to start by listing 20 LP's a week, all timed to end 10 days later. Hopefully after a while, i'll be able to step things up a gear or two in good time. I'll only ever offer THE BEST, MOST AMAZINGMOST IMPORTANTVERY RAREST UK 1ST PRESS ORIGINAL RELEASE RECORDS I can ever possibly find!!! I won't insult you with later 2nd pressings unless they are of exceptional quality and rarity. I'm sure you love good music as much as me, especially when it's a 1st Press LP, direct from the master tape, as the musicians intended it to be heard (none of this "digitally remastered", weak reissued, remixed rubbish from hired hands with one eye on the mixing desk and the other on the clock! If these session men really knew how genius should sound, surely they would've been geniuses themselves?! There will only ever be one Hendrix, and that's just a tiny example).

I intend to become one of the best sellers on ebay and would like to thank all of you potential bidders for your support and taste in music!!! I strictly grade all LP's I list, visually and sonically using the UK RRPG standards as customer satisfaction is highly important to me, and i'll always do my very best not to let you down. Be sure to add me to your favourite sellers list and check my auctions frequently as i'll be listing some gems that you just WON'T want to miss out on!!!

I think that's everything, so let the auction commence!!!

Title :  The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Axis : Bold As Love

Label & year : Original Black Track 613 003 LP , UK Stereo 1967 ULTRA RARE 1st Press Vinyl!!!

Matrix's : Side A : 613003 A v 1 , Side B : 613003 B v 1

IMPOSSIBLY RARE double ridged day of release 1st Press!!! Only an absolute TINY portion of the very 1st copies pressed BEFORE release for the UK and for export to Scandanavian countries had two small ridges around the spindle hole!!! 99.9% didn't, making this a PHENOMENALLY RARE TRUE 1st Press!!! You'll NEVER get the chance to own one of these again!!! Much, much RARER than even the fully laminated Are You Experienced!!!

Just like any of the Hendrix experience albums, this is one of THE BEST LP's of all time containing some of THE GREATEST music EVER recorded!!! I love this album. It's got a unique sort of taste, feel, and atmosphere. It's certainly the most psychedelic thing The Experience ever did, right from the phenomenal music to the INCREDIBLE cover artwork! This LP is awesome, and absolutely LOADED with classics - you've only got to look at the tracklist! It feels really relaxed and easy going, as if Hendrix was satisfied with proving himself to the world with "Are You Experienced", and felt it was time to do what he really wanted to do. There's not too much out and out blues on here, it's more experimental such as the Jazzy "Up From The Skies", the truly psychedelic "One Rainy Wish", the Dylan-esque classic "Castles Made Of Sand", the hilarious "Wait Until Tomorrow", the delicate "Little Wing" and "Bold As Love", and his trademark freak out track! On Are You Experienced, it was "Third Stone From The Sun". On Electric Ladyland, it was "1983 (A Merman I Shall Turn To Be)". On this, it's the PHENOMENAL "If Six Was Nine"!!!

I can't believe how amazing this LP is, every track is truly outstanding. Probably my favourite Hendrix LP (though I couldn't live without any of them). Even Noel Redding's "She's So Fine" is suprisingly excellent psych-pop! It easily sits in the top 10 greatest albums of all time, and there it shall remain until the world blows up!!!

Until that moment? Well, we should all listen to his records and be thankful that Jimi Hendrix was born!!!

Tracklist : EXP, Up From The Skies, Spanish Castle Magic, Wait Until Tomorrow, Ain't No Telling, Little Wing, If Six Was Nine, You've Got Me Floating, Castles Made Of Sand, She's So Fine, One Rainy Wish, Little Miss Lover, and Bold As Love.

Musicians : Jimi Hendrix - Vocals / Guitar / Bass / Harpsichord, Noel Redding - Vocals / Bass, Mitch Mitchell - Drums, and Chas Chandler - Producer.

About : Ultra rare Original 1967 TRUE UK 1st Press!!! This MASSIVELY RARE LP initially sold barely anything (LP's were also really expensive to most people back then!!!) and therefore had a very small run, and is INCREDIBLY HARD TO FIND, especially in this condition!!! AN absolute classic LP from this incredible band!!! An astonishing album that really DESERVES to be in EVERY serious 60's / 70's record collection!!! Don't miss out on this MEGA RARE LP!!! If you like good music, bid now!!!

The LP :

Labels :

Classic UK day of release 1st Press double ridged Track labels!!!. Both sides are AWESOME with NO real signs of age, and NO writing OR tears whatsoever!!! Just has a small amount of ultra mild spindle marks from light use over the years!!! FANTASTIC for a 40 year old record!!! Both must grade overall at least as Very Good+!!!

Record : Visual -

Spectacular Original Ultra Thick TRUE UK 1st Press Vinyl!!! Nice bright, clean and shiny as if it was just pressed!!! Fantastic jet black mirror like surfaces, it looks FANTASTIC with NO nasty deep scratches, and NO viscious scuffs, OR any groovewear whatsoever!!! The only blemishes are just some usual light wear such a few non sounding mild scuff marks, a few light non sounding hairlines, and just some of the usual ultra light, wispy sleeve traces/cleaning lines (only visible in direct angled light) from light use and where it has sat or been removed from it's cover over the years!!! AWESOME for a record of this age and rarity!!! You'll be amazed by how clean and unworn it is!!! Must grade overall at least as Very Good!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)   Record : Audio -    Thankfully, it plays BRILLIANTLY with fantastic stereo seperation and clarity!!! It really sounds great with NO distortion, hops, hisses, sticks OR skips!!! Only (like pretty much all records) has a touch of low level static in places such as on the run in grooves, maybe the rarest odd light non repetitive click here and there, and just a HINT of mild "bluesman's fag" crackle and pop in few and far between places such as on some of the quieter sections and between tracks, but it really doesn't overshadow the music AT ALL!!! (it's much more soft and atmospheric rather than the sound of bacon frying!!!) I'd even argue it gives it added soul!!! A hugely enjoyable listen - The music is TRULY loud and clear with that bass, depth, warmth and clarity you can only get from UK 1st Press viny!!! AMAZING for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall audiably at least as Very Good!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)   Sleeve :

Original 1st press Stereo laminated E.J Day gatefold sleeve complete with original inner sleeve!!! IMPOSSIBLE to find this sleeve in anything approaching a good condition - most are spent, torn and worn due to age and the lifestyles of the buyers of this particular LP!!! This one is NOT, and looks GREAT, especially considering the nature of these fragile sleeves!!! NO tears, NO graffiti, NO bad marks AT ALL, and still strong and solid after all these years!!! Only has a few usual light signs of ageing such as a few creases, a touch of ringwear, slight rubbing to parts of the lower seam from where it has sat on the shelf over the years, some minor signs of laminate peeling and some other light signs of general mild ageing here and there, some denting/rounding to the four corners which basically ALL vintage LP's have, and POSSIBLY (just to be sure!!!) one or two other minor signs of age here and there, though nothing that really stands out to note at all!!! And that's truly about it!!! A GREAT sleeve, and a TRUE rarity to find one as incredible as this - most have been virtually destroyed or are just about being held together, but not this one!!! The unlaminated inside looks AWESOME with minimal age and NO ink rubbing, the psychedelic colours are as vibrant as ever, and it remains ultra strong, solid, unspoilt, and even the spine remains strong, solid, and 100% unsplit!!! Must grade overall at least as Very Good!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)

Summary : A BRILLIANT example of this IMPOSSIBLY RARE classic TRUE Stereo double ridged 1st Press LP!!! Hard to find in ANY condition, but SERIOUSLY RARE TO FIND ONE AS AWESOME AS THIS!!! YOU WILL NEVER GET THE CHANCE AGAIN, so don't miss out on this scarce opportunity to own a true piece of 60's/70's music history!!! Bid now!!!

Please take a look at all my other auctions for many other ultra rare classic LPs, and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Thanks again for looking, it's truly appreciated!! Cheers!!!

I've realized that most countries have their own unique grading system. I base mine strictly on the UK RRPG grading system (occasionally with a + or a - to indicate the higher and lower ends of the grade, though I only use these if i'm having real trouble deciding!), so please check their chart for further clarity if you are unsure of what my grades mean. As a general rule, a mint record will be 100% perfect, an excellent record will be in fantastic clean condition with the occasional light mark and light use from the years, and a very good record will have noticeable visual markings and obvious signs of age and use, but will still remain clean with relatively light wear and will play fantastically well with plenty of life remaining in it. I very rarely offer records below the very good region unless they are of an EXCEPTIONAL rarity and playing quality...I hope this helps!
