Description

Absolutely beautiful original 1970 copy of Jimi Hendrix's fabulous Band of Gypsys LP on Capitol STAO-472. Oroginal green labels, Los Angeles Sterling pressing with "RL" signed in the runoff, indicating mastering by the legendary Robert Ludwig. Many people consider the Ludwig masters of this album to be by far the hottest and best masterings made. Way better than the later pressings for sure, and way way better sounding than the limp CDs. Really incredible sound here... especially on such a beautiful copy. This disc is in just beautiful shape. There are a few minor superficial sleeve hairlines but they do not affect the play at all. Plays flawlessly and just beautifully. The cover is also very nice indeed, with just minor ringwear, and some minor edge and corner wear. Not at all bad; this is really a strikingly nice looking copy, and a totally great sounding one. Hard to beat.
