Description
This is a 78 recording of Jimmie Noone's Apex Club Orchestra, Vocalion 1580. It was recorded on January 12, 1931 in Chicago. Trav'lin' All Alone, with female vocal...on the flip side, He's Not Worth Your Tears, same female vocal. Although the Apex Club was raided by federal agents in 1930, and closed for selling liquor during prohibition, Noone kept the Apex Club Orchestra name. His band included the great Earl Hines. His smooth clarinet playing was a big influence on Benny Goodman and the swing era that followed. The record is in remarkable condition, there are no scratches. A few scuffs from being handled over the years. I am not an expertso I describe to the best of my ability. On the Trav'lin' side there is a small white mark about a half inch into the music, I don't know how to clean it. I did play it and you can't hear any skips in that area.
