BRISTOLS No.1 RARE RECORD SHOP *Item for sale* JJ JOHNSON ~ Volume One ~ BLUE NOTE BLP 1505 LEX / WEST 63rd RVG EAR
This is a generally clean US pressing of JJ Johnson Volume One, with Clifford Brown, John
Lewis, Charlie Mingus and Kenny Clarke.
This issue features the Lexington Avenue address on the A-side label, with the 47 West
63rd address on the B-side. No "R" on either label, RVG and P (ear) etched on both dead
wax run-outs. The rear cover has two stamps and the Lexington Avenue address at the
bottom.
The front cover has some light soiling, all seams are intact, the rear cover has a old
sticker residue mark bottom left, otherwise just gently soiled as the photos should show.
Both labels are generally clean, with several spindle marks on the B-side, less on the a-
side.The vinyl surfaces have the odd light hairline, nothing deep or ugly looking, nothing
you can feel. There's a little background between tracks and in quieter passages, but still
a bright, crisp sound and a very enjoyable listen.
