Description
Vinyl is Very Good Plus. Cover is still in shrink but has cut-out hole (this record didn't sell) and some slight staining on corners. Made around the same time as the outstanding Middle Eastern Rock lp, this one has Crazy Horse's Danny Whitten playing guitar.
Except for the jazz-standard “Nature Boy” all titles were composed by Joe Beck. Later on he did a few more recordings of the title song “Nature Boy” (composed by a certain Eden Ahbez) with various famous jazz musicians. “Nature Boy” had previously been recorded by Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis, John Coltrane and several others, and - interestingly so - is part of the soundtrack of the movie Moulin Rouge - sung by David Bowie! It is a very adaptable song that lends itself to a variety of interpretations, and in this album is brilliantly presented by Joe Beck and his extraordinary guitar work as a psychedelic rock song.
“Nature Boy” is a congenial opener of the album of the same name, which Vernon Joynson in his recommendable book “Fuzz, Acid and Flowers” aptly described as a mixture of psyche, rock and jazz, with occasional classic influences, but clearly dominant psychedelic and rock elements. A fascinating album with exciting compositions that display high technical skills.

Recording grading is visual only unless specified. I would love to spend time listening to all the lps but to listen to every lp all the way through is not possible. If I see any questionable mark, I will check it for skips or pops. Remember, even brand new vinyl can have slight surface noise especially on first tracks and sometimes defects. These are not CDs that are supposed to play the same every time. Vinyl is the better package but don't expect perfection from a 40 year old record. That said, I certainly don't usually sell records that have mildew or seem to have been exposed to moisture since that is the bane of a vinyl recording's existence!
SS: Still Sealed, any defects such as "cut-out" holes will be noted in the description
M : Mint, a brand new record.
Near-Mint : Means mint minus, no notable scratches or wear probably rarely played.
Excellent: Just a small bit of wear that keeps it out of the NM range.
VG+ : A used, reasonable copy. There will be obvious slight signs of wear and the possibility of light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice.
VG : Very Good - a used played copy. There will be obvious signs of wear and likely light to moderate surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages.
VG- : Very Good Minus - significant wear and marks and usually quite noticeable surface noise. (I only sell records below VG- if it is rare or for the cover).
