Description
Up for auction, a nice copy of the 1980 album by Joe Gibbs & the Professionals, Rockers Carnival, released on Joe Gibbs Music Corp. with catalog number JGML-8086. The album is engineered by Errol Thompson and features performances by Sly, Willie Lindo, Bo-Peep, and Lloyd Parks. There is an uncredited deejay at the end of all of the showcase-style tracks (send me an email if you know who this is). As a carnival album this contains an interesting blend of reggae and other Caribbean genres like Calypso or Soca—the last song on each side is written by the Mighty Sparrow.
The vinyl is in m- condition, super clean with a few inaudible surface defects from manufacturing. The cover is in strong vg condition, very clean with some light rub wear and wear to corners, and a three-inch wide seam split at the top edge where the record bumped the jacket. Also, on the back cover, the paper is imperfectly glued to the cardstock, which has left some little ridges or air pockets in one vertical section. See below for a list of tracks.

In the United States, shipping is $4.00 for media mail with delivery confirmation; add .50 for each additional record. International buyers are welcome—shipping to Canada is $15 for the first album, $3 for each additional record; for the rest of world, shipping is $20 for the first record ($25 for double albums), $5 for each additional record (these prices apply to purchases of six records or less—if package exceeds 4 pounds in weight, buyer will pay actual shipping cost).
