Description

This item is well sought after but it seems to have a bit of an identity crisis. I couldn't find the exact one so I put it to the FaceBook experts to identify. There is still not a consensus that this album is a 1959 repressing. Everything points to pre-1960. Please ensure that this is the copy that you desire, there will be no refunds for the incorrect issue. Below is what I have found:

1. The cover is not laminated.

2. Side 1 has a deep groove with the West 64th St. NYC address (no 23). It also does not have the ® below the 'Note' on the label.  This side does not have the 'Inc' in the address.

3.  Side 2 has a shallow groove with the West 64th St. NYC address (no 23).  It does have the ® below the 'Note' on the label.  This side does have the 'Inc' in the address.

4.  Both sides have the 'RVG' stamped in the dead wax along with the 'P' indicating a Plastylite pressing.

5.  On this sleeve, there is NO print defect on side of Curtis Fuller's forehead (later versions have an error where various degrees of printed blotches can be seen on Chris Fuller's forehead).

6.   This sleeve has a blue photo and white "Blue Train" lettering;  47 West 63rd St., New York 23 address on back cover with no "Inc.";  No ® in the address on back cover.

Please look at the photos carefully, they are part of the description of the record & sleeve.  I cannot emphasize this enough, CLEAN THE RECORD BEFORE PLAYING!!!

I am NOT an audiophile, please ask questions! I give the best description of the record as I can. I do not use the 'standard' grading that's out there, I feel it's a bit ambiguous and has overlapping descriptions. If you need additional photos, I'm happy to take them for you.

This record plays well with some background noise and shows some groove wear and slight scratching. The outer sleeve is a bit rough with edge and corner wear along with shelf wear "halo". The bottom seam is split most of the way and the top seam has a small split about 1" long. The original inner sleeve is long gone.
