Description
Up for auction is a very nice copy of the John Coltrane album "Dakar" released on Prestige Records (PRLP 7280) in 1963. This copy is an original, deep groove, RVG in the dead wax, MONO recording on the black & yellow Prestige labels with the Bergenfield address, as it should be. Cover is in great condition. Retains the high gloss lamination, no ring wear. Back cover is bright, bone white, as it should be, no writing or ring wear. A factory "star" stamp in upper left corner. Corners sharp, un-bumped, though a couple have the smallest amount of rubbing. Seams strong and intact, no splits. Overall, call it Near Mint (NM). The vinyl is equally nice. Retains original high gloss luster and sheen. No scratches or scuffs. No marks around spindle holes. One very small mark on the label of Side A (see photo, though not worth mentioning). I've play tested this record and it sounds beautiful and very clean. Hardly any background noise to speak of. This record could not have been played more than a couple times, very few signs of previous handling or use. Call it Near Mint (NM). One of Coltrane's great performances on the Prestige label. A must have for any serious collector.
