Description
On offer here is the very last record to be issued on the legendary U.K.vertigo swirl label. The catalogue number is 6360 083 and the category is blues by the legendary artist John Dummer...Hardly anyone purchased it at the time and it is mega rare.I have not seen a copy for over 15 years and certainly not in this condition.Just have a look at the photographs.It was not liked by the critics and even the online vertigo guide compiler was disappointed with it but in my opinion he is wrong.It is worth buying this album alone for the 9 minute track,I've been scorned but many other tracks are excellent.I will describe the condition in as much detail as possible but if anyone is not happy,I offer a full no quibble refund but would urge people not to take advantage by recording on to another format and then claiming a refund.Here goes.
VINYL
The vinyl is in beautiful condition.I would estimate it has only been played a few times maybe less than half a dozen.Under a very bright light,I could not see any marks or imperfections and it goes without saying that there are no jumps or repeating grooves or scratches.The matrix number is 1Y1 2Y1 so seems to be the earliest possible pressing.There are no discernible marks on the spindle or any damage.There was an energy crisis in the early 70s so thick vinyl was a thing of the past.The vinyl was much thinner and additives were added.This meant that many vertigo swirl records and Harvest records of this period played with background noise,crackle and whooshing but this record is a welcome exception.It played with no background noise and the music came across as loud and vibrant,crystal clear.The record has been cleaned using a professional cleaning machine costing £1000s but in reality there was no need to do this.The labels are clean and bright with no writing on them.I would grade the vinyl as NM.
SLEEVE
Interestingly this was the only vertigo swirl record in the series to be issued on a non gatefold single sleeve.Consequently these sleeves were made from thin cardboard and prone to excessive wear.This sleeve is a welcome exception.All the edges have minimal wear and they are sharp.All the wrting on the spine is clearly visible and and again there is minimal wear.The spine on many records of this type were badly worn with missing letters but not this one,There is no writing on the sleeve or names.There is hardly any creasing and very hard to spot.There is slight wear on the rear at the top but again hard to spot. The record comes with the original vertigo inner sleeve in excellent condition.Of great interest to me was the fact that the original shop owner had written a price of £1 on it.These swirls were placed in bargain trays and I wish I had a time machine to get a supply.I would grade as EX+,certainly a definite EX and in no way VG.
Overall this is a fabulous record and sleeve to add to any collection and it would be very difficult to obtain an upgrade.I will deliberately set the auction start figure as a low amount to give everyone a chance of bidding.The record collector guide price is £250 but when this record comes up for sale very rarely,it sells for much more.It is collectible because it is the last in the series.Good luck everyone.

I offer free postage for U.K. purchasers.I charge £10 for Europe and the rest of the world.I have not excluded any countries but please note that the mail takes ages to arrive in places like Italy or Russia or the old soviet block so be patient.Also some parcels go missing in these countries so I would have to stipulate that sending to these countries is at the buyer's risk.I send the parcel registered with good protection with the sleeve separated from the vinyl.I prefer paypal but will accept a cheque or postal order from U.K..buyers.I would have to wait for any cheque to clear.
