JOHN LENNON - TWO VIRGINS
Insanely Rate GENUINE UK Stereo Press Housed in MONO Sleeve!!

On offer here is an incredibly rare and impossible to find John Lennon record. This is an original, genuine stereo 1st pressing of the John Lennon solo avant garde LP 'Two Virgins' on the Apple / Track label.

Not only that, but the record in housed in a MONO sleeve! You can easily tell if the cover on these records is for the mono pressing as the text is featured on the front of the cover on mono sleeves, whereas on the stereo sleeves it's featured on the back.

Back in 1968 only 5,000 copies were ever thought to have been sold and it never made the charts. It was then very swiftly deleted by EMI and forgotten about..

The vast, vast majority of copies that did sell were stereo. The mono copies were only every available via mail order and literally only a handful were ever manufactured and sold. I can only assume a few more mono covers than discs were manufactured so these additional mono sleeves were partnered up with a stereo disc and sold like that.

This is only of the big holy grails of Beatles / John Lennon collecting! Would be a fantastic part of your vinyl collection!!

Please check out large, detailed photos of this record in the gallery above. (Obviously the Monty Python Mary Whitehouses do *not* appear on the cover!)

Cover Condition: VG
The sleeve is holding up fine with some light, general issues. The semi-laminate is clean but has started to split and bubble in a couple of places on the front and back. There's a 1" ish long tear at the mouth edge on the front cover. The seams are all holding fine although the bottom seam has started to unglue - a very easy fix I'll let the winning bidder sort out.
.
Inserts Condition: G+
The original black sugar paper inner sleeve is included. It has some light creasing and splitting in the middle of each seam.
.
Record Condition: EX
The disc still retains a beautiful sharp, clean shine to it and just has a small amount of light, faint scuffing in places. Overall, looks really nice!
.

Stellar labels with no discolouration or damage and just a few light, faint little spidery spindlemarks.

My Vinyl Grading:

MINT - No true preowned disc can be mint. The highest I will ever grade a disc is NM+/M- if it looks untouched and unplayed, but the MINT description will only be for records I personally know have never been played (i.e. I personally bought from new) or for copies that are still sealed.

NEAR MINT (NM) - For discs that look near flawless and which may have just the slightest, barely visible little whispy marks here and there.

EXCELLENT (EX) - For discs that still retain a brilliant, clean shine but does have some light scuffs here and there

VERY GOOD (VG) - For discs that still look clean and have a nice shine to them, but do have a fair amount of light scuffmarks and/or some light scratches.

GOOD (G) - For discs that look like they have been loved and have a fair amount of scuffs and surface scratches. Not in terrible condition, but would look like it would play with a lot of crackle.

FAIR (F) - For discs that may have some life left in them but are pretty trashed with numerous surface scuffs and heavier scuffs and scratches etc

POOR (P) - For discs that are unplayable and look completely trashed. Discs like this would only ever be offered if they were insanely rare.
