JONES-SMITH INCORPORATED Lady Be Good/Boogie Woogie (vocal by Jimmy Rushing) Vocalion 3459 E+ this 1936 session produced by John Hammond was the first recorded precursor to what would become the Count Basie big band as first recorded by Decca the following year - with Basie, Carl Smith on trumpet, Lester Young (his first issued recordings), Walter Page on bass and Jo Jones on drums
