Lester Young Blue Lester Savoy MG 12068 Original Press RVG in dead wax
Vinyl grades at a solid VG++ for side one and VG+ for side two. At first glance it looks EX but under the light you can see some very fine marks in spots but absolutely no deep scratches. Side two has a few more noticeable marks than side one. These are light paper scuffs. Still retains it's original gloss. Plays and sounds great. I did pick up some pockets of very light crackle in a few of the quietest parts and an occasional click or light pop. Nothing severe or that will ruin the listening experience. Some passages are near perfect. Honestly a really nice player. I did wipe this down but I feel like I inadvertently added some static so a good wet wash and rinse wouldn't hurt. Labels are also Excellent. The cover is VG, solid and looks good.The top right corner is split about 1/2 inch. The bottom right corner is a bit blunted and just starting to separate. There is a 1 inch split on the middle of the spine but I can't tell if it goes all the way through or just the outer layer. Worth noting though. The bottom edge has a few small spots of flaking. It looks there was a small piece of tape that has been removed. No residue but you can feel some roughness. It may be able to be carefully removed since the front is laminated and slick but I would probably just leave it alone. The back side has the most wear with some light to moderate staining and smudges. Not to shabby though. Overall a pretty nice copy and better than any reissue!
