Description
The time has finally come to sell my own personal vinyl collection, much of it from the 1970s through to the 1990s - see my other listings and please note my 100% positive feedback. I've been a bit of an audiophile and eclectic music collector, so have always tended to take great care of vinyl. The equipment all my LPs were played on was a Rega Planar 3 turntable with an Audio-Technica cartridge.
This particular vinyl LP is a tough one to sell as Peter Saville's sleeve alone is a true work of art but you can't hold on to these things forever, so here we go.
I bought this LP from Piccadilly Records in Manchester in the first week following its release in June 1979. So, unlike many of the other copies of this classic vinyl you will see on eBay and other platforms, this is the first time it has been sold since I bought it back in 1979.
This LP was played a few times in the late 1970s/early 1980s and has now been stored for the past ~45 years.
It comes with all the detail that you would expect from a first pressing of this LP by Tranco, including the red translucent vinyl when held up to a light (see image), textured sleeve and the following matrix details:
On the black labelled side, labelled Outside: FACT 10 - INSIDE 1 A A PORKY PRIME CUT STEP On the white labelled side, labelled Inside: FACT-10 OUTSIDE 1 B THIS IS THE WAY A PORKY PRIME CUT
So please note that on this pressing, the labels were attached to the wrong side of the vinyl due to an error at the pressing plant.
I'm not a professional record valuer/dealer so I can't be 100% certain but given the date I bought this and all the detail described above above, this has all the characteristics of the rare Tranco pressing of Unknown Pleasures.

Vinyl - Near Mint - some very light, hairline marks which are not audible - there are pops and occasional crackles on listening which are not visible in the vinyl and likely a characteristic of the original pressing
